Berachain Airdrop
The Berachain Airdrop was a token distribution event that took place on February 6, 2025, following the launch of Berachain's mainnet. A total of 79 million BERA tokens (15.8% of the total supply) were allocated to eligible users, including testnet participants, ecosystem contributors, and certain NFT holders.
At the time of distribution, BERA tokens were trading at ~$8, valuing the total airdrop at approximately $632 million. The airdrop was designed to reward early adopters, liquidity providers, and governance participants who engaged with the Berachain ecosystem before the mainnet launch.
Eligibility Criteria
The Berachain airdrop was distributed to:
- Testnet Users – Participants who engaged with the Berachain testnet.
- Request for Brobosal (RFB) Contributors – Individuals who submitted or contributed to Berachain development proposals.
- Boyco Participants – Users involved in Berachain’s social and governance initiatives.
- Social Engagement Contributors – Active community members and Berachain supporters.
- Ecosystem NFT Holders – Holders of Bong Bears NFTs and other Berachain-affiliated digital assets.
- Binance Coin (BNB) Holders – Specific BNB holders were eligible for a portion of the airdrop.
- Strategic Partners – Institutional and ecosystem participants who contributed to Berachain’s growth.
Airdrop Claim Process
- Initial Claims – Eligible users could begin claiming BERA tokens starting February 6, 2025.
- Additional Claims – Some user categories were able to claim tokens starting February 10, 2025.
- On-Chain Verification – Users were required to verify eligibility via Berachain’s official claim portal.
Risks & Considerations
- Airdrop Sell-Off Risks – Large distributions may have caused short-term BERA price fluctuations.
