Climbing to Diamond: My Game Plan for the Mitosis Expedition Campaign

It took me almost a year since my first deposit, but I made it. I’ll break down the strategy I used, my journey through different vaults, and how you don’t need to be a whale to get here too. If you’re eyeing a potential $MITO airdrop, this article is for you.
What is the Mitosis Expedition?
The Mitosis Expedition is a strategic campaign aimed at accelerating the adoption of Liquid Restaking Tokens (LRTs) and advancing cross-chain liquidity across the decentralized finance (DeFi) landscape. By leveraging Mitosis’ modular blockchain infrastructure, the campaign bridges ecosystems and unlocks seamless, scalable, and composable interactions between blockchains.
This initiative marks the launch of Mitosis’ liquidity expansion efforts—especially within the restaking space—enabling assets to flow freely across chains while maximizing capital efficiency and minimizing liquidity fragmentation.
What Makes the Mitosis Expedition Unique?
- Multi-Chain Restaking: Stake across multiple chains with LRTs, earning rewards without compromising liquidity or network security.
- Cross-Chain Liquidity Flows: Move staked assets across blockchains effortlessly, breaking down silos and ensuring your capital works harder.
- Mitosis Vaults & Yield Opportunities: Deposit into Vaults to receive miAssets—yield-bearing tokens that also grant governance rights and access to curated DeFi strategies.
- Governance-Driven Liquidity Allocation: Influence where liquidity flows through governance, empowering the community to shape the Mitosis ecosystem.
- Early Adopter Rewards: The Expedition rewards early participants and liquidity providers, offering strong incentives for long-term engagement.
Let’s go back to the beginning…
I checked the details — my first deposit in the Mitosis Expedition Campaign was around June 2024, and it was only ~0.1 $weETH. Since then, I’ve never made any withdrawals. The only time I pulled anything out was to join the Matrix Vaults Campaign (which also looks super promising, by the way).
Other than that? I just kept stacking $weETH. Slowly, consistently, I built up the position to over 0.5 $weETH inside the Expedition vault.
And still… nothing.
Even with:
➢ Morse Holder boost
➢ Loyalty multiplier (almost a year of holding!)
➢ Over 1.3 MILLION $MITO points

I wasn’t even close to Diamond... The $weETH vault was just way too competitive. A lot of whales, early depositors, and not enough tier space for people like me.
The Mindset Shift That Changed Everything
That’s when I had a mindset shift: If the goal is Diamond, I had to stop grinding in a losing race. So I started analyzing the other vaults available. My criteria was simple:
➢ Less saturated vault
➢ Protocol I trust
➢ Preferably newer = lower competition
➢ Bonus if it’s on a chain I like using
After checking my options, one stood out: $cmETH by mETHProtocol.

Why?
➢ It had just launched recently
➢ It's built on Mantle, a chain I already love and use regularly
➢ I was already involved in the mETHProtocol ecosystem (shoutout to Methamorphosis), so it just made sense.
So I didn’t hesitate. Since I had already migrated all my $weETH to the Matrix Vaults, I ended up making a new deposit of 0.2 $cmETH into the Expedition Campaign vault.
One Shift, and Everything Moved Fast From There
And let me tell you: things moved fast after that. It was night and day compared to $weETH. In the $cmETH vault, tier progression actually felt achievable. I wasn’t constantly watching whales zoom past me. With just ~110,000 $MITO points, I climbed to Diamond Tier in a matter of weeks.
Yup, ~10x fewer points than I had in $weETH, and it got me where I wanted.
That’s the power of picking the right vault at the right time.

And that’s not even all — because I’m still:
➢ Farming POWDER in the Methamorphosis Season 3 campaign
➢ Expecting rewards in both $COOK and $MITO soon
➢ Getting that sweet yield from Mantle’s restaking ecosystem
It’s a win-win-win. Seriously, if you’re not playing in these newer vaults, you might be missing out.
Another big checkpoint on my Mitosis journey
My journey with Mitosis has been going on for over a year now, with lots of milestones and achievements along the way. As an active contributor, I’ve got plenty of checks on my list:
✅ Diamond Tier - Testnet (GoM)
✅ Diamond Tier - Expedition Campaign
✅ Morse Holder (🐶,💜)
✅ Early Matrix Vaults depositor (phase 1)
✅ Yapper, Uni contributor & loud Discord degen
But beyond the points and rewards, what really stuck with me was the people. Met a ton of cool folks — smart, supportive, and always down to share insights.
Web3's better with frens.
GMITO!
