How to Contribute to Mitosis University and Earn $MITO: A Complete Guide for New Writers

If you're looking for a way to earn $MITO without spending money or being a whale, here's one of the best interactions you can engage in — and it starts with your voice.
What is Mitosis University?
Mitosis University is the official content hub of the Mitosis community. It’s a blog maintained by community contributors who publish high-quality, original content covering everything from DeFi strategies to Mitosis campaigns and broader crypto topics.
The coolest part? You can contribute with just your knowledge and experiences. You don’t need to stake, swap, or LP anything to start earning points toward a potential $MITO airdrop.
This is a true write-to-earn model, a term originally coined by Luke (Mitosis Co-founder) to describe Mitosis University's rewards system.

Since its launch in January 2025, the University has already:
- Onboarded 200+ writers
- Published 800+ articles
- Gained SEO traction on Google
- Been cited by various AI tools as a reliable source
Every published article earns points, which may translate into community token allocations in the future. There's even a Leaderboard (hosted on Google Sheets) where you can track your ranking based on article performance.

Why You Should Join
Whether you're a seasoned crypto writer or a curious contributor with deep insights from your DeFi journey, Mitosis University gives you a platform to:

- Accumulate points toward potential $MITO rewards
I’ve been part of this journey since Day 1, and I’ve already published 16 articles — with more coming soon. All of them are handcrafted, real, and created with care for the community.

How to Write a Good Article for Mitosis University
Here are some tips to help you stand out and contribute high-quality content that resonates with readers and search engines:
Use AI, but don’t abuse it
AI tools like ChatGPT are great assistants, but they shouldn’t replace your own voice. Use your personal experiences and insights from Mitosis and the crypto space to bring unique, valuable content.
Don’t copy-paste from news portals
Avoid low-effort rewrites of existing content. Bring something new to the table — Mitosis deserves originality.
Add visual elements
Infographics, tweets, Spaces, embedded videos, and images all help capture attention and improve engagement.
Don’t forget the featured image
It’s what shows up in the article listing. Make it relevant and appealing.
Use formatting tools in Ghost (CMS used by Mitosis)
Headers, bold, italics, and well-structured sections make reading easier and more enjoyable.
Add internal links
Use at least 3 internal links to other University articles (glossary entries are great!). It improves SEO and keeps users on the site longer.
Word count matters
I recommend aiming for at least 1,000 words to perform well on search engines. Some articles can be shorter, but treat your content like an article — not a tweet.
I even recorded a video of myself writing the thread that inspired this article — it’s 100% community-made, by someone who lives and breathes Mitosis.
Publishing Your Article
Once you finish your article, do a full review:
- Check formatting
- Test all links
- Review images
- Ensure quality
Once published, it can’t be edited — so make sure everything is right before submission.
Yes, you can publish the same article in two languages (e.g., English and your native language). Just submit them as separate entries. Keep in mind: translations earn fewer points than original posts.
To finalize your submission:
Fill out the post-submission form with:
- The edit URL of your article
- Whether or not it has a translation
Then the Mitosis team will review and publish it in 1 to 2 days.

Join the Writer’s Telegram Group
Approved writers get access to a private Telegram group where you can:
- Ask for feedback
- Discuss ideas
- Learn from other contributors
- Troubleshoot issues with formatting, SEO, etc.
