The Matrix Campaign: A Four-Phase Journey into Next-Level DeFi

Mitosis is all about fairness, harnessing cutting-edge concepts like programmable liquidity, Ecosystem-Owned Liquidity (EOL), and modular blockchain architecture to redefine Decentralized Finance (DeFi). The Matrix Campaign leverages Matrix Vaults to secure miAssets and maAssets, driving yield strategies through liquid restaking, all while ensuring omnichain connectivity and fair market liquidity.

Four Phases, Four Opportunities
1️⃣ Phase 1:
- Deposit Cap: 3,000 weETH
- Duration: 7 days
- Eligibility:
- Expedition Tier Achievements:
- Participants who have reached the Diamond Expedition Tier qualify by demonstrating exceptional engagement in past expeditions.
- Alternatively, those who achieved the Platinum Expedition Tier and have secured a Morse NFT are also eligible.
- Expedition Epoch Participation:
- Depositors during Expedition Epoch 1 are automatically included—similar to how a snapshot in a DeFi lending protocol locks in participation.
- maAssets Holding:
- Users holding a total of 5 or more maAssets prove their commitment to liquidity provision, much like securing a position in an Automated Market Maker (AMM) pool.
- Expedition Tier Achievements:
2️⃣ Phase 2:
- Deposit Cap: 6,000 weETH
- Duration: 14 days (following Phase 1)
- Eligibility:
- Platinum Expedition Tier & Community Engagement:
- Participants must have maintained a Platinum Expedition Tier status and/or have obtained a Morse NFT, demonstrating ongoing commitment.
- Recognized community contributors, those active in Mitosis Discord with roles similar to rewards seen in Babylon or Movement Airdrops, qualify based on their community engagement.
- Expedition Epoch Participation:
- Depositors during Expedition Epoch 2 confirm their continuous involvement, echoing the principles of collective liquidity provision and Chain Abstraction in multichain setups.
- Platinum Expedition Tier & Community Engagement:
3️⃣ Phase 3:
- Deposit Cap: 12,000 weETH
- Duration: 14 days (following Phase 2)
- Eligibility:
- Gold Expedition Tier & Advanced Engagement:
- Participants who have earned the Gold Expedition Tier have shown advanced commitment by engaging in higher-level expeditions.
- Depositors during Expedition Epoch 3 further validate their active participation in the ecosystem.
- Innovative Yield Strategies:
- Engagement in initiatives like the Mitosis Expedition and yield trading that maximizes omni-sourced yield, comparable to participation in liquid restaking protocols (LRTs and LSDs), also qualifies participants.
- Gold Expedition Tier & Advanced Engagement:
4️⃣ Phase 4:
- Deposit Cap: No cap
- Duration: TBA
- Eligibility:
- Open Participation with Ecosystem Presence:
- Open to everyone, this phase welcomes participants who have maintained a continuous presence in the ecosystem.
- Eligibility is based on holding a mix of assets, from vanilla assets and stablecoins to $MITO tokens, and active engagement in DeFi lending and yield trading.
- Broad-Based Community Engagement:
- The focus is on long-term involvement, ensuring that participants who contribute broadly to the ecosystem, via cross-chain liquidity provision, Chain Abstraction, or other yield strategies are rewarded.
- Open Participation with Ecosystem Presence:

How Does Eligibility Work?
- Snapshot-Based Verification:
At 12:00 AM UTC on March 3rd, 2025, snapshots capture key metrics like miAsset balances, Expedition Tiers, and Morse NFT holdingsensuring fairness much like a Babylon or Celestia Airdrop would. - Seamless Connectivity:
Through Chain Abstraction and Cross-Chain Liquidity, assets move effortlessly across networks, supported by Multichain Liquidity Provision(Multichain LP) and protocols that mirror the interoperability seen in Cosmos and LayerZero. - Enhanced Participation:
Roles within the community (similar to those rewarded via Movement Airdrop strategies) benefit from transparent eligibility criteria, ensuring that every contributor has access to fair market liquidity and the benefits of Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) and vanilla assets.
Locking in Fairness: The Tech Behind the Campaign
- Underlying Infrastructure:
Mitosis deploys Matrix Vaults, specialized smart contracts that function like a tailored Appchain, to manage liquidity provision. This design not only optimizes yield but also supports innovative mechanisms such as liquid restaking, reminiscent of EigenLayer's restaking model. - Technology Stack:
By integrating Layer 1 fundamentals with Layer 2 enhancements (e.g., Rollups) and leveraging the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), the system guarantees liquidity provider yield (LP Yield) and maintains fair market liquidity. The structure supports decentralized finance lending and yield trading through a robust, programmable liquidity framework.
The Bottom Line
The Matrix Campaign is a next-level DeFi journey that integrates:
- Modular blockchain design versus traditional monolithic blockchain structures.
- Seamless liquidity via Chain Abstraction, Cross-Chain Bridges, and Multichain LP solutions.
- Advanced yield strategies through liquid restaking, omnichain connectivity, and omni-sourced yield.
- Interoperability powered by LayerZero, Rollups, and the Ethereum Virtual Machine, ensuring fair and transparent participation.
Mitosis is all about fairness, ensuring that every participant, from those tapping into LP Yield to those engaging in yield trading and DeFi lending, benefits from a cutting-edge, decentralized ecosystem. This Matrix Campaign paves the way for the next evolution in DeFi, where innovation meets equity in a truly omnichain environment.
